Singin’ Apple Favors

I love coming up with unique favors for any occasion. When brainstorming fall favor ideas, I wanted to come up with a new campfire theme favor (see my previous post on s’more favors) and decided to create these cute apple roasting kits. These would be perfect for a fall wedding or end of summer campfire.

Supplies:

• Apples
• Cinnamon and Sugar
• Raffia or straw
Medium Cellophane Bags
Small Glassine Envelopes
Favor Tags
Small Oval Labels
Text Labels
• Ribbon

Assembly:
To create my apple roasting kits, I first gathered the apples (1 per favor) and placed a small oval label with the words “Singin’ Apple” on each one. Next I created little envelope packets of cinnamon and sugar. To assemble these, I first placed a text label on small glassine envelopes with instructions on how to roast the apple: ”

Place an apple on a cooking stick and roast over hot campfire coals until the apple peal splits and ‘sings’ (sizzles). Carefully peel away the skin (adults should help kids with this) and roll apple in cinnamon-sugar mix.

I used Lindsay’s recent post as a guide for making my own cinnamon-sugar mix and scooped about a tablespoon into each envelope, sealing them with another small oval label.

I assembled my favor kits by first placing some raffia into the bottom of each cellophane bag. Next I place one apple and sugar packet into the bag and tied it closed with a rubber band. For a finishing touch I added a ribbon and scallop favor tag.
