My sister-in-law Kathie recently got engaged on 8-9-10 (August 9, 2010). She was very excited and happy to be engaged to a great guy named Tim. After her engagement, she immediately started brainstorming ideas for her wedding. The first thing decided on was the wedding date: 9-10-11 (September 10, 2011). Writing Thank You Notes

I grew up in a family where writing thank you notes was something that was expected. A verbal thank you was okay for some things, but I had the kind of grandma where thank you notes weren't just for weddings gifts, but for birthday gifts, Christmas gifts, or just a dinner party. Of course, this was the same grandma who stabbed her son (my father) in the elbow at dinner for having his elbows on the table!
