Q. Why can’t you show me when I place my order, what my items will look like with my words?
A. Our labels, tags, coasters, and cards are not created instantly by computer programs. They are custom created by designers who take great pride in making each item a work of art. Your designer carefully adjusts type size, letterspacing and linespacing to be sure your words fit the space and the item is balanced and beautiful. Please remember that you can arrange to see electronic proofs of any order. If your order is over $50 including shipping we provide you with proofs by email at no additional charge (except we cannot provide proofs for rush orders). If your order is less than $50 and is not a rush order, we’ll be happy to make you a proof for $10 - just let us know in the special instructions. Also, if we have any questions - no matter what size your order - we will email you the question or a proof of your item. You are also welcome to write your specific instructions in the special instructions box provided on the Order Page. Our goal is to provide you with personalized printing that you absolutely love and that works perfectly for you!
Q. Can you send me a sample of a specific style or color?
A. We cannot send specific styles or colors, sorry. Free samples are a random selection of labels, tags, coasters and cards. To test styles and colors, and see how your names and message appear in print, we recommend you order one test sheet of labels. Please see below for more details.
Q. How can I test an item to make sure the printed product I receive will work for me? I see a color and style on your web site that looks like what I need - but it needs to be exactly right.
A. The best way is to order one test sheet of labels in exactly the style and color you are interested in. This will show you exactly what your names and/or message looks like in that style and color. After receiving your test sheet, it is easy to reorder whatever quantity you need. The color of your reprints will be very close to the color of your originals. Also, the color of any coasters or note cards you might be planning to order would be very, very close to the color of your test sheet of labels, so long as the labels and coasters or cards are from exactly the same section (i.e. weddings, wine...), the same style, and the same color. To be absolutely sure that the color of your reprints will ”perfectly” match the color of your original order, you can mail us a sample from your original order so we can match it. Although we calibrate our printers every day, there are still variations in color because of daily fluctuations in humidity and temperature as well as equipment changes such as ink levels, oil density, and timing of consumables.
Q. I have a very long last name: De Haas Van Dorsser. Can you create customized printing for me that looks good?
A. No problem! There is a maximum number of characters for each text area (which you will see when you order). Our specialized staff of type designers will place your words, and adjust the letter sizing and spacing so it is visually balanced and exceptionally beautiful.
